I’m really sure that Pangandaran will give us full of pleasure. Has its own culture, Ciamis unlike other metropolitan cities. The tradition of Sundanese is still existence so we can find the kindness of Sundanese here. The enthusiasm to work together and the acquiescent to help each other are still preserved. The city that has over 1,523,000 populations, consisting of 80% natives and 20% comers and almost all the citizen in Ciamis spoke Sunda. Everyone who lives in Ciamis respect each other no matter with the comers. It’s creating tranquility and calm atmosphere for everyone.
Ciamis has a kind of traditional food named Galendo. It’s created from coconut oil and some other ingredients. Mix with some special spices with traditional processing (handmade). Galendo can be eaten directly or can be used as the special spice in other recipes. In the previous we can easily found Galendo in sauk, the traditional can that made from bamboo. But nowadays it’s quite hard to find Galendo in bamboo, now Galendo is much modern, packed in different packet from 1 kilogram @ Rp20,000/ packet, 450 gram @ Rp12,500/ packet, 225 gram @ Rp5,000/ packet until 125 gram @ Rp3,000/ packet. You just can buy what you need. What a waste, because there just a little group of citizen could create this traditional food. No many Galendo could be found outside Ciamis.
